Why I Started ROAS PPC — the Anti-Agency
Over a decade ago, I was 27 and just getting my start in digital marketing, eager to prove myself. One day, after reviewing a particularly poorly performing campaign with my boss, he said something that stuck with me to this day: “If it were your own money, would you still run this campaign?” That became my compass.
Years later, I helped grow our company from $10 M to $100 M ARR. We eventually got acquired by a private-equity giant for $1 B—and everything I loved about the job unraveled. The new CEO axed the in-house team and handed everything to an agency she worked with at one of her previous companies (one of the big guys).
I was one of the few survivors. Suddenly, I was just a middle-man—caught between execs and an agency full of buzzwords, over-charging for under-delivering. I watched the people I respected walk out the door. I watched results tank. And I watched invoices roll in that made my old salary look like a joke.
That hurt. But it lit a fire. I started freelancing on the side—helping clients directly, seeing real results again. It reminded me why I got into marketing in the first place: writing ads, testing growth opps, sharing wins.
Eventually, I walked away and built ROAS PPC—not to become an “agency,” but to do the opposite. To actually care. To be accountable. To treat client budgets like my own and focus on what matters: real growth, not vanity metrics.
Because here’s the truth: most big agencies over-promise, under-deliver, and hide behind jargon when things go sideways. They hand you off to someone junior, bury you in slide decks, and somehow their idea of “optimizing” always involves spending more.
That’s not how I work. I built ROAS PPC to be the agency I wish existed back then—one that actually gives a damn, treats your money like it’s their own, and stays obsessed with results, not optics.
